Altered States
August 6, 2021 — December 12, 2021
Highlighting unique and alternative visions of the world through twenty-three artworks from the SFCA’s Art in Public Places Collection.
Artists have always been known for their unique perspectives and alternative visions of the world. Curated by Elizabeth Baxter, Altered States explores a variety of imaginative and unusual realms, through painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, fiber and sculpture. The artworks reflect transformations and changes, as well as critiques, questions, and concerns, while delving into such themes as death, spirituality, global warming, politics and the COVID-19 pandemic.
